James kozlov’s story

My name is James Kozlov, the owner and operator of Jimmy The Handyman. I remember as a kid growing up I would always getting in trouble from my parents for tinkering with there house. There are many funny stories I remember like dismantling my moms chandelier, taking apart the bedroom door knob, and disassembling an electric motorcycle. I remember as a small child my mom’s handyman who was called Dave the handyman. I loved it when Dave came to fix the house I would always watch intently and ask him a million question. He was very annoyed by me and didn’t care for me much but i loved watching. I knew that i wanted to be like Dave when i grew up. Its where Jimmy The Handyman got its name from, instead of Dave its jimmy. When i was around 13 years old is when the trouble really started. I would listen to my mom at the kitchen table talk to my dad about work that needed to be done. I would than sneak off and repair the said work. My mom never trusted me to repair ayting so i had to fix things sneakily. after a while she was really impressed with the way i could fix anything. so much so that when i was 15 years old my mom and dad were spending hundreds of dollars on cheap tools for me in order to fix there home. My drive and desire to fix items only continued to grow. My mom got me enrolled ealry at a 2 year trade school at 16 years old and I completed the course in only 9 months on a fast track program. at 17 years old and out of high school I joined a construction company and quickly became the assistant foreman, but the work started slwoing down. I than at 20 went to a remodeling company and quickly became the brains of the projects until the contractor stopped paying me. At 20 I worked for a pest control company specializing in rodent exclusions. Finally in 2018 and at only  22 years of age I left that company, and I started Jimmy the handyman. I remember the blood sweat and tears i poured into this company. I would travel from Gurnee where I started the company out of all the way to Milwaukee, Chicago Heights, even Indiana for only $35. I would do anything, I would work any hours in order to try to make a name for myself and my business. I remember times that I would travel all that way for potential customers just to see a 22 year old kid come to repair their home. I can recall many times the customers would poke fun, bully, or even completely turn me away all together, but I knew that eventually my hard work would pay off. Around  2020 Jimmy The Handyman became a trusted name and brand in lake county synonymous with affordability, integrity and quality. I then decided to only service lake county. And I have been acquiring different licenses and happily operating the company in lake county since that time.
